EmedSafe is a simple web-based tool for sending messages securely
and privately. It can be used like any other web-based email system,
and adds a critical
feature that other services lack: a secure method of transmitting
documents. The level of security is as strong as your browser's

EmedSafe - HOW IT WORKS Using EmedSafe is as easy as any other web-based email system. You can only use it through your browser. There are no options for POP service to your local email handling client. All web communications to EmedSafe occur over HTTPS so the contents of what you send and receive are secure. If you elect to send a message unencrypted, the recipient will get it just like any other email message. EmedSafe removes any header information that might reveal the actual point of origin from which you are accessing and sending your EmedSafe message. The default send mode is unsecured. You must specifically click on the Compose Secure Message link to set up the secure method. You can also create different signatures to amend to the end of your messages, set up multiple folders and create an address book. It's actually quite clean and streamlined...a good alternative to other, non-privacy oriented free email service, especially considering it's security features. EmedSafe uses non-persistent cookies to avoid making you log in every page, but if the page remains inactive for one minute, or you close your browser, the cookie expires and you must log in again.
